Automatic Driving Lessons

Pros
Learning to drive in an automatic car is slightly easier and less of a stress than learning in a manual car as you haven’t a gear shift to control
and the clutch to think about, especially if the driver is doing a large amount of short distance driving where changing gear is necessary.

Some people also have a problem finding the “bite” on a manual car and end up stalling quite a bit,
automatic removes this as the car “automatically” finds the bite for the driver.

Manual driving can be distracting for some, as they find their attention taken away from the road, therefore automatic allows the driver additional concentration.

Another point to consider is if you are wishing to pass quickly (you need a driving licence for a job/your theory is about to expire),
you may just wish to learn on automatic, as previously stated there is slightly less to learn.

Also if you are an anxious or nervous person it may be best to learn on automatic.

Cons
If you decide to learn automatic, you will only ever be able to drive an automatic car,
which could limit you when hiring cars abroad and buying certain cars which are only manufactured in a manual transmission.

Automatic cars use more fuel than manual and are slightly more expensive to purchase.
They are also slightly slower at pulling away and accelerating as the car does it for you.
